Who We Are

Independent Authors Book Experience (IABX) established in 2014 and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2017 by author Renaee Smith. The organization was created based on her own experiences as an independent author. Mrs. Smith understands that promotion is the key to success and that writing the book is sometimes the easiest part of the process. With that in mind IABX strives to bridge the gap between independent authors, publishers and readers. Our mission is to promote the work of Self-Published or Independent Authors, Poets, Publishers and Illustrators.

The Independent Authors Book Expo

The Independent Authors Book Expo was established to offer independent and self-published authors an opportunity to showcase their talent and work.  The Independent Authors Book Expo our biggest event attracts a diverse population of authors from all over the United States.

The event is designed to expose these authors to new readers and is a fun and free event for the local community in and across Essex, Middlesex and Union Counties and the tristate area. The Expo, is a family-friendly event, and brings in a large audience from the community.

In addition to being an important platform for our authors, this event also promotes early literacy and is aimed to encourage and inspire young readers.  We host a Children’s Corner where children get the opportunity to have the author read to them from their books as well as participate in the many activities that we have, Arts and Craft, Puzzle Making and more.

What We Do

Since its creation, IABX has become a widely-recognized hub of resources for the launch and promotion of new titles, including author profiles, book reviews, recommendations, event information, interviews and articles.
